MEANING OF WATER OF BAPTISM
Water Baptism is an important step in the faith journey of those who have received Christ as their Lord and Savior. Batism is an act of obedience through which we publicly tesitfy that we have personally placed our faith in Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. In water baptism, when the believer is submerged under water it signifies that their old life is buried together with Jesus, and when the rise up out of the water, they identify with the resurrection of Jesus, signifying that they are raisedto new life in Him. Water baptism is a public testimony of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.
